All for a noble cause!!

Taika..!

Rajesh's mail :Asha foundation is conducting a fund-raising party at Taika. Rs.250. Book your tickets now!Hey yo-yo guys this is probably the only chance to get into Taika. So hurry up.

My response : I am in buddy.

********************************************************************************

Taika is a strictly "Couples only" place and hence this urgency in his mail that this might be the only chance. Counting by the babes that come out from the place (Yes, we have been hanging around it quite shamelessly, to "guage" the place), we really had to get into it, whatever the cause.

********************************************************************************

Since for a month end, 250 is a humongous amount, we designated Rajesh to have a look around the place and find out how the party was rocking before we went. I had loads of work that day and had started by the 8:30 shuttle home when Rajesh called and said that it was an absolutely happening place and that we should come. I said that I'd already reached home and I'd come if I had company. At home I found Simon and Joseph in a very complacent mood, not at all interested. Somehow managed to get then going, and then it started raining. Not to be disappointed, there lay Jason's car. Of course, it befits a Yoyo man to go for a prty in nothing less than a car, so we did not have much of hesitation.

********************************************************************************

Rajesh was waiting there, and just when we were about to enter, a car drove in with a girl on the wheel, smoking and looking stoned, with a guy sitting next to her. Simon muttered something about her being hot and the guy's stupidity.

********************************************************************************

Taika rocked. There were hordes of foreigners, and the place really did not look like any of those charity events that I had ever been to. I really dont know what they meant by all this, but most of the people had very few things on, maybe in order to show some kind of solidarity towards all those poverty stricken children. And no one ate much either - only drank. They were all dancing their daylights off, guys hugging their girls and smooching , well, all for a cause. It appeared that the less you had on and the more you swayed and rocked to the music, the more "Cause aware" you are.

********************************************************************************

Joseph and Simon perched themselves high upon the gallery like seats, while Rajesh and I tried our hand (leg) at what we imagined to be dancing, but what would have appeared like some chimpanzee mating dance.

********************************************************************************

We walked around to fetch drinks and was suffocated with the things going around and a bit embarassed and ashamed , since we did not have a girl with us.Too much cleavage and too less clothes, all this for a cause!! This idea truly rocked!!

********************************************************************************

There she was, the female who had droven in like she was stoned, sitting atop the gallery with that guy. Just when the guy left to fetch a drink, Rajesh grabbed the opportunity and asked her for a dance. And she jumped up at the chance. She called in all of us, and Joseph was the one who was the most hesitant. But he too joined.

*********************************************************************************

This girl, who introduced herself as Deepa, spoke tamil, english and hindi. She could smell dope from miles before we could even get a whiff of it, and simon has a good nose for smelling things out. She complained about the lousy music, questioned the sexual orientation of some of the guys around and sipped on a smirnoff on and off. She danced (??) or wildly gyrated with all of us and did not seem to mind the occasional hand that caressed her back.. And the guy who came along with her did not mind any of these either. Very very suspicious indeed.

*********************************************************************************

At 11, the party (yes of course, for a cause) was over. We did manage to get hold of Deepa's number. We went to a restaurant that opens till late night.

*********************************************************************************

A car was parked near ours and there was this long haired guy, whom assuming he was from Taiks, Rajesh told "Yo! to Taika"..Funny indeed. And this guy, not to be left behind said "Hey I keep seeing you around Taika very often"
I had to munch hard on my chicken sandwch to keep my self from laughing. Simon choked on his beer and joseph almost rolled on the floor. Rajesh, though, handled it very diplomatically said "Now, I would consider that a compliment".
That guy turned out to be a DJ at another club, Tuscan.

********************************************************************************

End of "Party for a Cause"!! :o)

Nice..'taika' sounds good. Good that you got that gal to dance. And what happened then, did anyone bother calling her up? I doubt if she would have remembered. And hey, you gotta reply to the comments, man, I feel like I'm talking to myself here.
